In the BeBerry showroom in Prague's Vršovice district we've already been on a visit. The owner and leading Czech-Slovak barista Tomáš Laca has exhibited specialty coffee in our iconic #1210 shelf in pale green color. After more than a year, we are returning because additional Fleysen metal pieces have been added to the coffee-scented spaces.
"We wanted to have a simple, clear brand that is not boring. So, we incorporated colorfulness and nice shapes. And that's exactly Fleysen – a simple, straightforward brand that is interesting."
In the three years of the showroom's existence, the customer base has grown, people keep coming back for coffee, and Tomáš told us that in the foreseeable future, a move to larger premises is planned. However, he managed to add a second #1210 standing shelf, this time in blue, and our practical metal pegboard to the current space.
Tomáš, after more than a year and a half of full operation, how would you rate your experience with Fleysen furniture?
It's great, the shelf works perfectly, which is why we bought a second one along with the bulletin board. Even though I know that the shelves are supposed to be fixed to the wall, we left them as they are so we can move them if needed.
So, to the green shelf, you added a blue one and a blue bulletin board. How did you decide on the colors?
My girlfriend helped me with that because I'm not that skilled in this area. I liked almost all color combinations, but we finally decided on two darker colors to make the products stand out and to match the green. It's great that the products are connected both in color and design, and you can see the same handwriting at first glance. We'd like to add another wall shelf, but that will be possible only in a larger space.
How do customers react to the new furniture? Have you received any comments or feedback?
We have only positive reactions. Specialty coffee attracts many people from creative fields, often graphic designers or photographers come here. They usually think the shelves are more expensive, that they are some special design pieces for a café, and they are pleasantly surprised by the price. I would also say that the price is great – it's only a little more expensive than a shelf made from the same material from a large chain. I was surprised that people are very interested in the bulletin board and want it for their homes.
Do you feel that Fleysen furniture helps you express the concept and personality of the showroom?
I think so. We wanted to have a simple, clear brand that is not boring. So, we incorporated colorfulness and nice shapes. And that's exactly Fleysen – a simple, straightforward brand that is interesting.
