Christian Pignati entered our competition for a new office interior with his space in the South Moravian region, which will serve not only employees but also as a shop. And what else would you expect in this location but liters of great wine? Thus, Fleysen Studio presented the owner with a design in a retro-modern style, tuned to a deep ruby color.
A Job Well Done
When the competition participant became the winner, and thus also a client of Fleysen Studio in Plesná, our designers were delighted. Wine is associated with positive associations and life events, it has many aromas and flavors, and therefore such a project unleashes creativity to the highest level. The goal of the design was primarily a cozy interior that breathes a modern and peaceful atmosphere on employees and customers alike.
What Needed to Be Focused On
The specific feature of the space is a relatively small area in the shape of a narrow “noodle”, which any more robust material or design would overly burden. Therefore, our designers selected iconic Fleysen metal standing shelves as the display area, which can comfortably hold the wine bottles but leave the wall to breathe.
Since the owner wanted an interior in a retro-modern style, the designers complemented the design with authentic furniture from the 1960s, whose wood resembles wine barrels, and a decorative carpet that evokes more of a living room or shop.
Red or White?
When it came to colors, the decision was quite quick. Since the flexibility of Fleysen furniture also lies in its color options, and it can be custom-made in any shade of the RAL color chart, the designers decided on ruby-colored metal shelves. These were complemented by the aforementioned furniture and accessories in warm colors, as well as beige-toned wall paint.
To separate the shop from the back area, the designers chose a heavy curtain instead of a door to save costs. When left open, customers can see a large ball of rice paper in the back room, reminiscent of the Northern sun. The shop lighting is arranged with strips of directional lights to highlight the wine on the shelves.
Simple, Functional Back Office
The designers kept the office in a minimalist spirit and added simple shelves #1214 and perforated cabinets #1311 on a thin wire frame to the light wood worktop.
