Thanks to the metal material, the furniture is so subtle that it does not overshadow the displayed products, while being elegant and having a high load-bearing capacity. — Lucie Kučerová Rožanská
For a small space, it was necessary to find furniture that could save space, withstand daily traffic and not disturb the natural concept . Despite the first thought, which would probably lead everyone to use wood, Lucie decided on metal wall shelves, whose shelves form a V-shape like Vibe . In addition, the white color contrasts with the products displayed, which are mostly in natural shades.

Can you introduce the Vibe bistro project to us? What were your main inspirations and goals?
It was mainly very fast because they called me back then that we needed to open a new project in a month and I'm good at these quick implementations. But a month didn't seem realistic to me, plus I now have a small child and in the end it took over three months because we had to coordinate the concept with the large team of Wild & Coco and Vitalvibe, adjust the budget, etc.
What were the specific challenges while working on this project and how did you overcome them?
The challenges were the small space, the budget and the communication. I am from Brno, but luckily I have a colleague from Prague, Aleš Rejman, who supervised everything and without whom I could not have done it. We put it all together, but it was wild.
Which of our products did you use in the Vibe bistro and why? How does it fit into the overall concept of the project?
I used wall shelves #1212 and #1213 because of their looks and they fit our budget. I liked the clamshell design, which goes well with both Vitalvibe and Wild & Coco. The metal material makes the furniture so subtle that it doesn't overshadow the products on display, while still being elegant and having a high load capacity.
What was your experience working with our company on this project?
Great. I contacted you because I like that the design is clean, organic, metallic and subtle. We also had a great time with the owner of Fleysen, Mr. Dušek, we laughed a lot and it was so cool the whole time that we finally started a second collaboration on equipment for the leisure center in Brno Lužánky Lata.
What advice would you give to other architects or designers who are considering collaborating with our firm on a similar project?
Don't be afraid to contact you. As soon as I placed an order, someone from Fleysen called me and asked me exactly what I wanted. There were no problems with production or communication, which doesn't happen very often. For example, I wanted pure white shelves, even though you only offered white and gray. I realized the quality of that cooperation even more on another project for the aforementioned Lata, where we produced a specific product, changed the design at the last minute, and you always accommodated us. And what's more, you printed beautiful hooks for us on a 3D printer. If you are an architect or designer, we recommend that you sign up for our Professional Program , where upon approval you will receive a 5% discount on the entire Fleysen range. During production, I decided that the shelves could also be used in damp areas, so I'm thinking that I could put them in a flower shop. At the same time, it's great that it's not an atypical, expensive piece product and most companies can afford Fleysen financially.
Can you tell us anything more about Lata?
Lata is also ready. I got involved in this collaboration when a friend called me and said they were renovating a leisure center. But while in Scandinavia, for example, there is investment in children's design, here it is not even within the framework of any subsidies, which is surprising. There is no funding for a quality environment. So I decided that we would make it nice for the children there, and I came there as a volunteer. Originally, I wanted colored MDF, i.e. wood fiber boards, but when I evaluated all the problems, how many people would be there and how they would probably behave with the furniture, I went back to Fleysen. We used bulletin boards of different colors, which we use as hanger walls. Children of different ages go to different clubs there, and the colored surfaces look like a kind of sculpture. There is also an atypical closet that serves as a place for mothers to put their things.
What would you recommend to colleagues who want to start working with metal furniture?
They have to realize that it is heavy. I worked in metal fabrication to learn how to work with it, I enjoy this material and it fulfills me, but it is important to think about the weight. And good anchoring to the wall – that cannot be underestimated. What projects are you currently working on? And are you considering using Fleysen again on any of them?
I'm thinking, we're currently doing a showroom in Brno for Jiří Procházka, an MMA winner who has his own clothing brand, and there could be some potential there. We're also creating a new space for the Kvítí z lesa flower shop, where I don't think the owner can imagine your furniture yet, because she's used to plywood, but we'll see.
