I love metal furniture because it combines lightness and timelessness. When I came across the shelves from Fleysen, I was immediately attracted to them. — Jakub Finger, Atelier Partero
How did you find out about Fleysen furniture?
I discovered Fleysen completely by accident. I have always been fascinated by metal furniture because it combines lightness and timelessness. When I came across the Fleysen shelves, I was immediately interested and started following them. When I needed new shelves for my home, the choice was clear. I may have first seen them on Instagram, but they caught my eye thanks to their elegance and utilitarianism.

Those pedestals are great – they allow you to put one file in which everyone can store their personal belongings or whatever they need. This keeps things from lying around on the desk, which is an extremely effective way to create a beautiful, lightweight, and totally versatile desk. — Jakub Finger, Atelier Partero
What convinced you about Fleysen shelves that they were the right ones for you?
For me, Fleysen shelves are the epitome of timeless industrial design. They are not only functional and durable, but also easy to maintain. If I push it to the extreme, even if they wear out after years, I just sandblast them and repaint them. They remind me of the quality of design from the 50s and 60s, when things lasted for decades and their style was always up to date.

How does Fleysen furniture fit into your interior?
My life and studio are based on simplicity and functionality. Fleysen furniture fits perfectly into this concept. Everything here is purposeful, nothing is wasted. Fleysen shelves perfectly complement my interior thanks to their lightness and the fact that they do not overwhelm anything - they are a quiet but important partner for any use of space.

How do you use Fleysen furniture in your studio?
I need maximum flexibility in the studio. We work with different materials and techniques here – from wood to 3D printing – and the space needs to be easily adaptable to current needs. Fleysen bulletin boards make it easy to change the arrangement, as the brackets and accessories can be easily moved. This is key for me. In addition, we print the accessories for the bulletin boards in the studio on 3D printers, which allows us to adapt the furniture exactly to our needs and increases the flexibility of the working environment even more.

How important are colors to you?
Colors play a very important role for me. I love muted shades like white and gray, but in the studio we decided on yellow. In the workshop we decided on yellow and black bulletin boards for practical reasons. Yellow has become our signature color, which adds energy to the space. We chose black bulletin boards for the metal workshop because they are more resistant to dirt and are not as demanding to maintain as bright colors.
What elements of Fleysen furniture do you value the most?
What I appreciate most is that Fleysen furniture is not only aesthetic, but also very functional. Every detail is thought out to facilitate everyday use and at the same time look good. The lightweight metal structures do not feel cumbersome and allow for flexible arrangement. In addition, the materials used are durable and easy to maintain, which is key for me both at home and in the studio.
What is your overall impression of Fleysen furniture?
Timeless design, simplicity and high functionality are the key values that Fleysen furniture embodies for me. For the studio, I chose shelves and bulletin boards in a bold yellow color, which became the dominant element of the space, and white pedestals, which beautifully complement the space with their purity and simplicity. Thanks to Fleysen, the working environment is not only functional, but also aesthetically unified.
